Online resources to find freelance, project and contract work
There are some great resources out there and they all differ as far as benefits to you and how much you can make as a freelancer. There are pros and cons for each. To make it easier to read this article, I will be substituting the word freelancer for any work that is freelance, project, consulting, etc.
ITMatchOnline.com - World’s leading outsourcing portal dealing in contact details. You can save 30-50% by posting your projects on projects@itmatchonline.com. Over 30,000 service providers available in various categories. Post your projects at free of cost. Offer great opportunity to get projects to service provider and freelancer.
Craigslist - The one that most people are awarer of is Craigslist.com. With Chicago being a major city, there are always new opportunities being posted. While Craigslist varies greatly from your traditional freelance and project work site, I’ve found it very useful in find opportunities. I’m actually speaking with a startup Pet site Yeepet.com this Monday to help them get started with selling online advertising on their site. They’re based in San Francisco, but they posted their opportunity nationwide and it found its way to the Chicago jobs section. I suggest you browse the various categories that interest you.
